A Thought To Ponder!

Photobucket

My daughter, age 14, walked up to me this evening and gave me this poem she found. She said to me, "Mom, please put this on your website...this is our family!! Maybe others will enjoy it!" After I read it, I had tears in my eyes, because it told me I was doing the right thing with my girls in not putting housework before spending precious time with them. I thought that was just so sweet of her. So in honor of my daughter's request, here is a poem she gave me.

I also share this wonderful poem to remind us all that it's not what people see that matters most but what most people "NEVER SEE". It puts the simple things of our lives into perspective.

Excuse This House!

Some houses try to hide the fact that children live there.
Ours boasts of it quite openly. The signs are everywhere.
For smears are on the windows, smudges on the doors;
I should apologize I guess-for books and toys strewn on the floor.
But I sat down with the children-and we played and laughed and read.
And if the doorbell doesn't shine, their eyes will shine instead.
For when at times I'm forced to choose the one job or the other,
I want to be a housewife but first I'll be a mother!

Don't you love that? It's such a simple truth, and something we can all apply!
For all the times I've sat on the floor with my girls as the dishes sat and waited or while the dust remained on my furniture....I am glad! My oldest is 14 years old....where does time go!!

Have a GREAT DAY!!! ~ Deb
