A Thought To Ponder!

Photobucket

My daughter, age 14, walked up to me this evening and gave me this poem she found. She said to me, "Mom, please put this on your website...this is our family!! Maybe others will enjoy it!" After I read it, I had tears in my eyes, because it told me I was doing the right thing with my girls in not putting housework before spending precious time with them. I thought that was just so sweet of her. So in honor of my daughter's request, here is a poem she gave me.

I also share this wonderful poem to remind us all that it's not what people see that matters most but what most people "NEVER SEE". It puts the simple things of our lives into perspective.

Excuse This House!

Some houses try to hide the fact that children live there.
Ours boasts of it quite openly. The signs are everywhere.
For smears are on the windows, smudges on the doors;
I should apologize I guess-for books and toys strewn on the floor.
But I sat down with the children-and we played and laughed and read.
And if the doorbell doesn't shine, their eyes will shine instead.
For when at times I'm forced to choose the one job or the other,
I want to be a housewife but first I'll be a mother!

Don't you love that? It's such a simple truth, and something we can all apply!
For all the times I've sat on the floor with my girls as the dishes sat and waited or while the dust remained on my furniture....I am glad! My oldest is 14 years old....where does time go!!

Nine Children and Having Fun!!

Photobucket

I've been enjoying having extra children around the house the past few day!

I only have three!!
Plus a friend who is visiting for a month from Arizona
Plus four children I'm watching for a Great friend to go away for her anniversary!
Plus one sleep over friend!!

They are all so funny!! I have no boys, so this has been such a treat!! "You know...things like someone to go throw the trash"!! "smile" It is so nice to watch my husband with boys!! My friend may not get her children back!!

Sooo...if I leave a word out or spell something wrong....you'll know why!!
Meals are quite adventurous!!

Thankfully all these girls love to help in the kitchen!!

I told them I wanted to take their picture to show all my blogging friends, and they agreed!! When I was that age, I never wanted my picture taken. Look how happy they look to be taking the picture for all of you!!

Have A Great Day!! I will!!

Welcome!
